Welcome back to School. On the 1st of September the pupils and staff of the John F. Kennedy School returned to school. Mr Reidy welcomed all the new pupils in second class. The day commenced with assembly in the church. Mr. Reidy reminded all children to work hard and to keep the school rules. He wished us all a happy and successful school year.
JFK has the 'blues' for Na Piarsaigh The John F. KennedySchool is very proud of our long connection with the Na Piarsaigh GAA club. In support of our local team's effort in the county final the pupils and staff decorated the school with the club's colours. Our green tracksuit was replaced with forty shades of blue. Unfortunately Na Piarsaigh lost to Adare but we believe "Beidh lá eile ag na Piarsaigh" and we will continue to support their players in their efforts
Oíche Shamhna Over the last few years our Halloween Parade has become very popular. Children from second to sixth class are invited to come to school dressed in their Halloween costumes. Prizes are awarded for the best three homemade costumes. The costumes are judged by the local community garda. The pupils really show their talent, creativity and ingenuity in their creations. This year the schoolyard was the scene of supernatural happenings, wizards, goblins and werewolves mingled with Michael Jacksons and M and Ms. There was an exceptionally high standard this year. We are looking forward to next year already.
Christmas Mass 2009 We would like to invite all our parents to our Christmas Mass on Monday the 21st of December. Our school choir has been practising for this highlight in our school calendar. The parents association will provide refreshments after Mass in the GP room.
Christmas Holidays The school will close for Christmas holidays on the 22nd of December we would like to wish all our parents and pupils a Happy Christmas "Nollaig faoi shéan agus faoi mhaise daoibh go léir"
