Elves on Strike!

Ms. Fitzgerald's 3rd Class got into character this week and put on a tremendous Christmas drama. 'Elves on Strike' was a huge hit with all the students and parents. The day was made even more special with Ms. O'Keefe and the J.F.K. Choir opening and closing the concert with some festive hymns. Well done to everyone involved.

Munster Visit

The 4th, 5th and 6th class boys got a surprise visit this week from two Munster rugby players! Ronan O'Mahony and Gerbrandt Grobler called to J.F.K. for a Q&A with the boys and to sign some autographs. The importance of training hard, never giving up on your passion and being a team player were just some of the top tips the boys were given. Cúige Mumhan Abú!

J.F.K. Basketball League

Well done to all the 5th and 6th class boys who took part in the J.F.K. Basketball School League! Congratulations to the Blue team; Brian, Taimoor, Lukasz, Theo, Sam and Colin who won the league and also to Stephan and Cian who won the MVPs. A special thank you to our two American coaches Matt and Liz who taught us all valuable basketball skills and drills. There will be no more training until February. Mrs. Vaughan and Ms. Quane were delighted to see such talent and team spirit throughout the term and look forward to choosing a team for the 2018 Limerick City League.

The Snowman

J.F.K. were treated to a screening of The Snowman this week. The movie was accompanied along side live music which made the movie even more magical! A huge thank you to Music Generation for putting on such a wonderful show and getting everyone in J.F.K. into the Christmas mood!

Credit Union Art Competition Winner!

Congratulations to Ms. Halpin's 5th class student, Jerome Chung on winning the Credit Union art competition this week. The theme was "Set your imagination free" and as you can see from his entry he did a fantastic drawing! Well done, Jerome!

Cliona's Foundation

In October, J.F.K had their annual Colour's Day to raise money for charity. Cliona’s Foundation is a Limerick-based charity that provides financial assistance to parents with very sick children to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child. We were thrilled to have Phil from the foundation visit the school this week to tell us more about the the charity and accept our donation

Major General Kevin Cotter visits J.F.K

J.F.K. were honoured to get a visit from Major General Kevin Cotter, a past pupil of J.F.K., to the school this week. To mark 100 years since John F. Kennedy's birth, the Major General presented the school with a photograph of the funeral of John F. Kennedy. The photo shows the important role the Cadets of the Irish Defense Forces played during his funeral.

P.E in L.I.T. with 4th Class

Mr Dillon's and Mr Sparling's classes were lucky enough to spend numerous Friday mornings in LIT this term. The boys were given the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities including javelin throwing, relays, the long jump, hurdles and obstacle courses. They had great fun and learned a lot of new skills.
