U13 Football Final

On the 6th of November JFK played Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh in the U 13 Football League Final in the Gaelic Grounds .

At 11.30 we left the school and walked to the Gaelic Grounds. When we got there, we went to the dressing rooms and togged out. After we togged out, we watched the end of the A League final.Soon after the match we went out to warm up on the pitch it was an amazing opportunity to play in the Gaelic Grounds.

10 minutes later, it was time for throw in. From the throw in Louis Murphy won the ball and punted it the length of the field and Tommy Glynn ran on to it and put it over the bar. For the next ten minutes Castletroy dominated but the backs wouldn’t let them through. Near the end of the first half Castletroy went ahead with a point and a lucky goal.

In the second half from the throw, our midfield and forwards dominated. In the middle of the second half both teams exchanged scores. In the last few minutes we were 2 points down and were looking for a goal but in the end it didn’t come and we lost by 2 points . With the final score line showing of 1-3 to 0-4 to Castletroy, it wasn’t to be our day.

We were all disappointed to have lost but were very proud of the massive effort put in by all players.
