In October, Ms. Fitzgerald's class were given acorn seeds to plant from Ray Foley, who works with An Taisce's LEAF programme.
Ray came back to visit the boys today and was extremely impressed with how the oak trees were coming along. He gave us a talk about the native and non-native trees in Ireland and we learned why trees are so important to our environment.
Ray also spoke to us about all the animals that can be found out in the Curraghchase Forest Park. We will be meeting Ray again in a couple of months out in Curraghchase to look at all the trees and animals out there.
Before Ray left today we planted our own Hazel trees in our J.F.K Garden!
